3:00 — 5:00 pm
Lou Ferrero, president of the ACHS, will talk about the house (a Federal style four-story mansion built in 1810) and the ACHS collections housed at the Philadelphia Archdiocesan Historical Research Center (PAHRC).
Old St. Mary’s Church and burial grounds will be open to us. The burial grounds contain the graves of many Catholic figures from the Revolutionary period, including Commodore John Barry.
At 3:45 PM in the rectory of Old St. Joseph’s Church (around the corner on Willings Alley), Bobbye Burke, archivist at Old St. Joseph’s, will describe the archives project at Old St. Joseph’s. [Be aware that the tour of the Old St. Joseph’s archives can only accommodate 20 to 25 people maximum for Bobbye’s presentation and, because of space restrictions, only 6 people at a time can actually view the archives.]
If attending, please RSVP to Lou Ferrero at louferrero@earthlink.net or 610-517-0835 so that we will have a count for refreshments.
